Thanet MPs Announce Jobs Fair 2014

Thanet MPs Laura Sandys and Sir Roger Gale have announced that their third annual Thanet-wide Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair will take place on Thursday 3rd July.

Laura said: “The Thanet Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair has become a very important event, helping people back into work. Over the last two years we have organised two of the largest jobs fairs in the country in terms of the number of employers attending, and last year alone we had 700 jobs and 150 apprenticeships available. The feedback we have had has been overwhelmingly positive and we’ll be hoping to help more jobseekers and employers again this year.”

Sir Roger said: “We have had some very positive employment figures recently but whilst there are still people looking for jobs, there remains much work to do. Our Thanet Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair is an excellent way for us as local MPs to assist practically in bringing together those with jobs, and those looking for them. We had a fantastic response from local businesses supporting the fair last year and I am hoping that we will once again be successful in helping local residents find new opportunities.”
